L3HARRIS TO DELIVER ENHANCED NIGHT VISION GOGGLE TECHNOLOGY TO THE US ARMY

Londonderry, N.H. — The U.S. Army has awarded L3Harris Technologies (NYSE:LHX) a $100 million order for the [Enhanced Night Vision Goggle – Binocular](https://engage.l3harris.com/envg-b/p/1) (ENVG-B) system that will enhance soldier situational awareness, mobility, survivability and lethality.
The ENVG-B delivers imagery and data from the battlefield directly to the soldier’s eye. The complete system will interface with the Army’s family of weapon sights, while enhancing interoperability and data sharing.
This marks the second delivery order L3Harris has received from the U.S. Army for the ENVG-B Program of Record (POR), which has a total value of $442 million. Since 2018, L3Harris has delivered more than 6,000 ENVG-B systems to the Army as part of both the POR and Directed Requirements contracts.
“The advanced capabilities of the ENVG-B give soldiers the unmatched ability to identify, assess and engage a target with greater accuracy and speed,” said Lynn Bollengier, President, Integrated Vision Solutions, L3Harris. “ENVG-B is today’s most advanced, combat-ready situational awareness goggle and delivers game changing technology to the Army’s close combat forces.”

L3Harris continues to deliver next generation technology that increases the effectiveness of the dismounted soldier. The ENVG-B, STORM II laser rangefinder and tactical radios such as the AN/PRC-163 and the AN/PRC-171 are the most recent examples of how the company is supporting the Army’s priority to increase situational awareness, mobility and lethality for the soldier.

Wenn Apple also der Lizenznehmer ist, würde Apple einen Vertrag mit anderen schließen, um die Displays herzustellen – einschließlich des FMM.
eMagin beabsichtigt nicht, selbst Consumer-Displays herzustellen. Sie werden weiterhin militärische und kommerzielle Displays im eigenen Haus herstellen und Forschung und Entwicklung betreiben.

I should also talk about the future of OLED micro displays.
While I believe that most displays coming out in the next year are going to be 2k x 2k per eye , 4K put together, we see a ton of OLED micro display manufacturers looking into increasing that resolution quite a bit
**eMagin** in particular has a display that is very small but packs in 4K x 4k - per eye.
While that is a lot of resolution to drive maybe less worrisome when you have something like foveated rendering.
That is some insane future proofing in terms of what we might see in the next couple years after the industry is switching back to these new type of OLED panels.

So high brightness , low persistence, no screen door effect, higher resolutions, lower form factor , and just overall better way to allow more features.
Switching back to OLED and this new type of OLED I talked about in this video is sort of next generation.
So as we kiss this OLED panel goodbye (holds up large OLED panel), it's only going to be replaced by a much better one and we'll be saying goodbye for LCD probably for ever at that point.
