The US Commerce Department announced its final circumvention determinations with respect to the Solar antidumping and countervailing duty (AD/CVD) orders last Friday, August 18. This ruling was expected and is not anticipated to impact our ability to assist our customers in the U.S. Commerce found no evidence of Canadian Solar evading the AD/CVD orders or violating U.S. law. Instead, after over a decade of adhering to the "positive-negative" junction (p-n junction) as the determinant of the country of origin for AD/CVD purposes, Commerce altered its stance to emphasize the location of wafer formation (specifically, where a silicon ingot is sliced into wafers). For all of Canadian Solar’s modules destined for the U.S. market, the p-n junction of the solar cells were manufactured in Thailand. Those modules were not within the scope of the Solar I AD-CVD orders until Commerce’s circumvention findings changed the “rules of the road” to focus on the location of wafer production. So, what’s next? Canadian Solar will implement necessary adjustments to comply with the revised criteria for country-of-origin definition by either fulfilling the 4/6 rule for module components or setting up an wafer factory in Southeast Asia. Consequently, we will continue to support our clients in the U.S. market.

Wo ist die Hoffnung...

52 Wochen tief, eine der besten Solar Aktien. Wenn es noch weiter rappelt dann wird aufgestockt. Bewertung ist ein Witz und wegen -5% Umsatz Verfehlung die so runter zu prügeln? Die wurde doch schon vorher runter geprügelt, von Mai bis heute ca. 40%. Macht für mich alles keinen Sinn. Deichblick hat es ganz gut beschrieben
