Meanwhile, Micron's Taichung union will hold a second mediation session with the company on Oct. 22 before deciding its next step. Micron has 12,300 employees in Taichung, including approximately 11,000 union members, while Taoyuan has around 3,000 employees, about 2,400 of whom are union members. According to the union, the Taoyuan operation has no blue-collar migrant workers but employs foreign professionals, including engineers, some of whom are union members. Responses from Micron, labor ministry Later Wednesday, Micron said it respected employees' legal rights and applicable legal procedures, and had heard and taken seriously the concerns raised by workers. The company said it would continue communicating with the unions in good faith through existing dialogue and mediation channels, including further mediation with the Taichung union, while seeking a constructive solution acceptable to all sides. The Ministry of Labor said in a statement that it respected the union's strike vote, describing it as a reflection of employees' expectations for "a reasonable profit-sharing system." The ministry urged Micron to carefully consider workers' views and put forward "concrete, feasible proposals" for negotiations. The ministry said it would work with the Taoyuan City Government and the Central Taiwan Science Park Bureau, which oversees the park where Micron's Taichung operations are located, to facilitate further negotiations.

Ja, sollte das Board morgen einknicken, kurzer Shortsqueeze, dann kommen USA (Idaho/Utah), Japan (Hiroshima) und Indien und ihre Gewerkschaften und fordern 15%. Sehen wir ja dann ob noch 2100$ Kursziele ausgerufen werden.

The $3000 price target implies about 195% upside from Micron's shares, which were trading at $1018 before the bell on Wednesday. "Micron is on a growth trajectory for the next 3-5 years, which is what the market has not yet acknowledged," says DA Davidson analyst. According to the brokerage, memory has become increasingly important to AI systems, as more memory can allow AI models to process larger amounts of information and run faster. It expects demand for memory to exceed supply in 2027 and 2028. The brokerage values Micron at about 19 times its fiscal 2027 earnings estimate, as it reiterated its Buy rating on the stock. Micron's use of longer-term supply agreements with customers should also make its business more predictable. "We would also point out that unlike previous cycles, demand is coming from the largest companies in the land like Amazon (AMZN), Microsoft (MSFT), Google (GOOGL), Nvidia (NVDA), and Apple (AAPL), not companies that tend to breach contracts," analyst said. Chipmakers' usage of less memory per AI processor, a process known as "de-specing," should not necessarily weaken Micron's outlook, according to analyst. Davidson believes using less memory could reduce the performance of AI systems and eventually encourage customers to buy more memory.
