I just listened to the webinar today and wanted to give a summary from my perspective. The format was a video conference with a moderator and 4 companies involved with Covid-19 vaccines. There were general question issues from the moderator and then each company had a short time to give their pitch. In the general discussion everyone agreed that several vaccines will be tested and eventually approved for Covid-19. Government funding is necessary and in the USA the funding comes from BARDA. Their were discussions about how you fill out the BARDA application and then wait to hear from them. Curiously, Seth Lederman made no comments during this part of the discussion. (Southern Research has a long history of working with BARDA and receiving over $500 million in BARDA contracts in total) In Seth Ledeman's verbal presentation he made the following points: 1. The Tonix vaccine platform is a live replicating virus (horsepox) 2. A Tonix vaccine would be highly scalable and easy to manufacture 3. The cost to manufacture the Tonix vaccine would be low since it uses standard vaccine manufacturing process 4. As a live virus the Tonix market would be healthy individuals with the objective to create herd immunity. This is the mass market worldwide for a vaccine. It was mentioned in the general discussions that 8 billion Covid-19 vaccine doses will be needed worldwide. 5. The initial Tonix vaccine animal testing will be done quickly and Tonix will have news about the safety and efficacy results which will determine the next steps.
