BEIJING, March 9 (Reuters) - China's consumer prices rose for the first time in six months due to spending linked to the Lunar New Year, offering some reprieve for the world's second-biggest economy grappling with weak consumer sentiment, while factory-gate prices fell again.
The consumer price index (CPI) climbed 0.7% year-on-year in February, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed on Saturday, beating the 0.3% gain forecast by economists in a Reuters poll.

BABA has set up an Artificial Intelligence (AI) e-commerce team and is currently building an AI e-commerce product called "Painting Frog" (literal translation of "繪蛙") for merchants and influencers, Tech Planet reported, citing sources.
The product will enhance the creative efficiency of Taobao and Tmall merchants and influencers in generating marketing content and training specialised AI models, so as to quickly raise the purchase interest of products. At present, the company has already started to invite a small number of Taobao merchants to test the product.
