Forrest says green hydrogen market could be worth $16 trillion by 2050 18 August 2021 Forrest says the green hydrogen market could create revenues of $US12 trillion ($A16 trillion) by 2050, an industry on the scale unlike any ever seen, as it meets clean energy needs in transport, energy and industry. Forrest’s own plans for FFI are to produce 15 million tonnes of renewable green hydrogen a year by 2030, “increasing to 50 million tonnes per annum thereafter – a scale equal to the very largest oil and gas companies today.” https://reneweconomy.com.au/forrest-says-green-hydrogen-market-could-be-worth-16-trillion-by-2050/

Danke Chemical.

Telegraph ArticleToday 08:13 Billions to be funnelled into hydrogen subsidies as UK races to hit net zero Manufacturers are to be guaranteed a price for their hydrogen by the Government so they do not have to sell to consumers at a loss By Rachel Millard and Emma Gatten, ENVIRONMENT EDITOR 17 August 2021 • 12:01am Billions of pounds of households' money is to be funnelled into hydrogen production as Britain battles to create a market in the clean-burning gas. Manufacturers are in line to be guaranteed a price for their hydrogen by the Government so they do not have to sell to consumers at a loss, under plans unveiled in consultation papers on Tuesday. The subsidy is expected to be funded through either higher bills or with money from the public purse. Hydrogen fuel is viewed as a key technology by officials racing to meet Boris Johnson's target of net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Millions of households are likely to have hydrogen boilers installed, replacing natural gas, and heavy vehicles such as lorries or aeroplanes will in future run on hydrogen instead of diesel. Officials are hoping to replicate their success in wind power, which has grown rapidly over the latest decade after the state guaranteed electricity prices to developers, paid for with a levy on electricity bills. No decision has been made on how to fund hydrogen subsidies but officials said that they expect to take a similar approach as with offshore wind. They added: “Any costs passed onto consumers through energy bills will need to fit into the wider policy landscape. “As set out, energy bills already bear various policy costs and we will be considering the overall impact of decarbonisation policies on consumer bills.” https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2021/08/16/billions-funnelled-hydrogen-subsidies-uk-races-hit-net-zero/?WT.mc_id=e_DM1479366&WT.tsrc=email&etype=Edi_Cit_New_v2&utmsource=email&utm_medium=Edi_Cit_New_v220210817&utm_campaign=DM1479366
