Bon-Ton recently announced its Q3 results, where it reported a comp decline of 6.6% and an increase in net loss of 40%. It has announced the closure of 40 stores in 2018 which would equate to one-sixth of the total store count. Unless we see some major improvement in weaker players like Bon-Ton in the holiday quarter, 2018 will end up showing big bankruptcies in the retail space. Macy’s and to an extent J.C.
