The lithium carbonate samples were created at the company’s Lithium Innovation Centre in Florida, USA, using equipment that replicates the DLE process planned for the proposed production plant at the project site. Over the past month, Anson has produced 33 gallons of eluate from 99 gallons of raw brine sourced from Paradox’s Long Canyon Unit 2 well. The company plans to ramp up production in the coming month and thereafter, relocate the sample demonstration plant to the proposed production site at the project. This will ensure a continuous production of samples to meet expected demand from potential original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners, including electric vehicle and lithium-ion battery manufacturers. The DLE, the first step in the lithium carbonate production process, has been rigorously tested and validated at an independent laboratory in Salt Lake City.

Anson Resources produces first lithium carbonate from Paradox brines in groundbreaking moment.
Anson Resources Ltd (ASX:ASN) is set to play a crucial role in powering the electric vehicle revolution after producing its first battery-grade lithium carbonate from brines at its Paradox Lithium Project in Utah, USA.
The company produced the lithium carbonate by using the flowsheet designed by its direct lithium extraction (DLE) partner Sunresin New Materials Co. Ltd for the project’s lithium-rich brines.
With the product samples at hand, Anson will now be able to advance discussions with potential off-take partners.

“The emission exception is an extremely significant approval, as securing a small source emissions exemption at state level from the Utah Department of Environmental Quality means that the company will not be required to seek any further air quality permits from the Federal EPA.
“Anson has designed the Paradox Project to extract, transport, process and dispose of lithium-bearing brine on state or private areas.
“This will likely have a positive impact on the proposed timeline to production, as the Government of Utah is supportive of the project and its approval timeline is expected to be comparatively shorter than federal government approval.

Anson Resources Ltd (ASX:ASN) has been granted a small source emissions exemption by the State of Utah’s Department of Environmental Quality for its Paradox Lithium Project in the USA, a huge win for being committed to environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles in its business conduct.
The approval exempts Paradox from being subjected to the federal government’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) supervision or oversight, which means that the project could go into production quicker than expected.
This permit is a key requirement for full-scale processing and securing it is consistent with Anson's aim of developing Paradox into a sustainable lithium-producing operation with minimal impact on the environment.
