Avantium und SCGC planen nun, ein gemeinsames Team zusammenzustellen, das mit lokalen und globalen Marken zusammenarbeiten soll, um die Volumenzusagen für FDCA- und PEF-Bestellungen in Asien zu erhöhen. Diese Bemühungen sollen zusammen mit der Validierung des Marktpotenzials und der Weiterentwicklung von FDCA- und PET-Anwendungen in der Region den Boden für „die zukünftige Produktion im großen Maßstab in Asien“ bereiten, erklärten die Partner in einer Erklärung.

Avantium sucht in Asien nach Abnehmern, da seine Flaggschiffanlage 5.000 Tonnen FDCA pro Jahr produzieren soll. Das Unternehmen hat bereits Lieferverträge für PEF oder dessen Baustein FDCA abgeschlossen, darunter mit Helios , Henkel und Carlsberg . Die bedingten Abnahmeverträge entsprechen 95 % der Kapazität der Flaggschiffanlage für die ersten fünf Betriebsjahre.
