Last week, D-Wave announced a scientific breakthrough, confirming that our annealing quantum computer outperformed one of the world’s most powerful classical supercomputers in solving a complex magnetic materials simulation problem with relevance to materials discovery.
The landmark peer-reviewed paper published in the esteemed journal @ScienceMagazine, “Beyond-Classical Computation in Quantum Simulation”, validates this achievement as the world’s first and only demonstration of quantum computational supremacy on a useful problem.

Trotzdem sehe vom heutigen Ausgangspunkt eine mögliche 100% Steigerung noch in diesem Jahr für mehr als möglich. D- Wave muss jetzt liefern das Interesse ist riesig. Nachhaltig ist aber ne andere Fragestellung

While D-Wave was excited to participate in the Quantum Day discussion at #GTC25 yesterday, I was shocked that @nvidia dismissed the significant impact #quantum is already having on the computing industry.
D-Wave’s quantum computers are not instruments. Our Advantage2 quantum computer has solved problems beyond the reach of classical. This system is a powerful, energy efficient machine that has already proven its ability to outperform GPU clusters. Maybe energy efficient blockchain is hitting too close to home?
I look forward to continuing this dialogue at Qubits on March 31.

Excited to share that today we introduced a new #quantum #blockchain architecture that leverages our recent quantum supremacy achievement. Our new research shows that our quantum computers could significantly lower the electricity needed to run blockchain. Using quantum computation for hashing and proof of work could require a fraction of the electricity used by classical resources alone and potentially reduce electricity costs by up to a factor of 1,000. Huge potential for blockchain applications
