For today: Astron Corporation Limited (ASX: ATR) is pleased to announce that the Victorian Government has approved the Work Plan for the construction and operation of the Donald Rare Earths and Mineral Sands Project (the Donald Project) located in the Wimmera region of Victoria.
The Work Plan defines the nature and scale of the proposed mining and processing activities and identifies and assesses risks to the environment and the public. It incorporates a risk management plan to eliminate or minimise identified risks and monitor performance against defined criteria. The Work Plan also details the nature of community engagement. Der Export von Seltenerdmagneten aus China ist zuletzt stark gesunken, wie Zahlen der Zollbehörden zeigen. Grund dafür sind neue Ausfuhrkontrollen für bestimmte Seltene Erden und damit verbundene Produkte. Betroffen sind vor allem Terbium und Dysprosium, die für besonders hitzebeständige Neodym-Eisen-Bor-Magnete (NdFeB) benötigt werden – etwa für Elektromotoren und Windkraftanlagen.
Allerdings verwenden die chinesischen Zollbehörden derzeit einen einheitlichen Zolltarifcode für alle Magneten aus Seltenen Erden, unabhängig davon, ob sie die kontrollierten Elemente enthalten oder nicht. Diese fehlende Differenzierung hat laut Branchenexperten zu erheblichen Verzögerungen bei den Lieferungen geführt. Im Mai exportierte China nur noch 1.238 Tonnen seltener Erdmagnete – der niedrigste Monatswert seit Anfang 2020 und ein Rückgang um 74 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vorjahresmonat. Bereits im April waren die Ausfuhren im Vergleich zum März um die Hälfte eingebrochen. Zwar haben die Behörden zuletzt eine begrenzte Zahl an Exportgenehmigungen erteilt, doch bleibt das Gesamtangebot insgesamt knapp.
Die wichtigsten Abnehmer chinesischer Seltene-Erden-Magnete im Mai waren Vietnam (235 Tonnen), Deutschland (209 Tonnen) und Indien (150 Tonnen). In die USA gingen hingegen nur 46 Tonnen – verglichen mit 689 Tonnen im Mai des Vorjahres entspricht das einem Rückgang von rund 93 Prozent.
