SANDNES, Norway – 30 August 2022 – Horisont Energi (EURONEXT: HRGI) and Neptune Energy today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop the Errai Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project in Norway. Errai could store 4-8 million tonnes of CO2 annually, with the potential to store more in later phases. The project includes an onshore terminal for intermediate CO2 storage, with the intention to permanently store the CO2 in an offshore reservoir. The onshore terminal would be capable of receiving CO2 from European and domestic customers, including from the planned CO2 terminal at the Port of Rotterdam. Several onshore locations in Southern Norway are being evaluated for the terminal. Neptune Energy brings subsurface expertise and extensive carbon capturing and storage experience to the project, having reinjected CO2 in the K12-B gas field in the Dutch North Sea for the last 14 years, as well as being a partner in the Norwegian Snøhvit field, which has been reinjecting CO2 since 2008. SANDNES, Norway – 26 August 2022 – Today, Horisont Energi (EURONEXT: HRGI) reports its first half and second quarter 2022 results. “Horisont Energi progressed our pioneering projects during the second quarter that will accelerate the transition to carbon neutrality when realised. The Barents Blue project has matured with several studies underway or completed. We are also excited to announce that our cooperation with Koole Terminals for the development of a terminal in the Port of Rotterdam will have a wider scope and include both clean ammonia and CO2 storage. This fits well with our strategic cooperation agreement with E.ON, signed during the first half of 2022, for the development of a European end-to-end carbon capture, transport and storage service offering,” says Bjørgulf Haukelidsæter Eidesen, CEO of Horisont Energi. As the Barents Blue clean ammonia project in Hammerfest continues to mature, the associated Polaris offshore CO2 storage was licensed during the second quarter. Polaris will store CO2 from the clean ammonia plant Barents Blue. In addition, Horisont Energi plans to develop a green ammonia plant in Finnmark, Northern Norway, with the Finnish company St1, with the ambition of producing green ammonia based on renewable energy. “The concept involves hydrogen production based on electrolysis of water using new renewable energy and other forms of renewable energy. We are currently evaluating potential plant site locations with our partner in several municipalities in Finnmark,” Eidesen adds. Sandnes, Norway – 9 March 2022 – Horisont Energi (EURONEXT: HRGI) today announced that the Barents Blue project has accomplished key milestones during the last few months to develop the ammonia factory in Hammerfest, Norway. Most of the technical studies for the concept phase have been submitted to the project, and Horisont Energi received political approval before Christmas for an agreement with the municipality of Hammerfest for an option to use the site at Markoppneset, and a public hearing for the zoning plan has been carried out.
