$PYPL Those who said PayPal is using the $1.25 billion in loans for buybacks are likely right.
PayPal's borrowing isn't needed for:
- Paying the bills.
- Staving off bankruptcy.
- Acquisitions.
- Paying of expiring debt.
- The $5b obligation in buybacks.
This is a company that is growing, has at least $5b FCF coming in, and is not in acquisition mode. They have plenty of cash.
As others have pointed out, this is exactly what is required to pay off the 2024 loans that are expiring.
This is no coincidence.
New Loans -> Cover 2024 loan -> Allows for more cash for buybacks.
As this wasn't necessary to hit the $5b buybacks for the year, it signals to me that the "at least" $5b in buybacks will be greatly accelerated.

Wie es haystack schon gesagt hat, sehe ich es auch als negatives signal das die gute cathie eingekauft hat, das wird gleich wieder massiv nach unten gehen. Ihre finanziellen Entscheidungen sind eine komplette Vollkatastrophe.
