The new system includes DOLA, an agent that can automate inquiries, collect intake details, open formal cases and escalate complex issues to human staff. The contact center supports all 28 DOL programs, including unemployment insurance, workplace safety and veterans' services. Officials said the technology allows the agency to triage citizen needs with greater precision and free up staff to handle more complex work. By automating routine tasks, the DOL expects to reduce administrative burden for citizens seeking job training, disability benefits and other resources.
