Norwegian renewable power producer Scatec ASA (OSL:SCATC) on Tuesday reported a nearly four-fold decrease in its consolidated net loss and an 82% surge in operating profit for the first quarter of 2024 when it wrapped the largest construction programme in the company’s history. The Oslo-headquartered firm booked a consolidated net loss of NOK 26 million (USD 2.36m/EUR 2.20m) in the January-March period, down from NOK 98 million a year earlier. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) rose to NOK 643 million from NOK 353 million. During the first three months of the year, consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose nearly 62% to about NOK 1.02 billion, while revenues and other income increased to NOK 1.28 billion from NOK 919 million.
