SQM posts 36% profit surge as lithium prices improve; sees 20% global demand growth Lithium supplier SQM (SQM) reported a 35.8% rise in third-quarter profit on Tuesday, driven by an improved lithium pricing environment, and said it expects global lithium demand to grow 20% in 2025. Revenue for the quarter rose 8.9% to $1.17 billion, from $1.08 billion in the same period last year. SQM, the world’s biggest supplier of lithium from brine deposits, reported adjusted core earnings of $404.1 million. That’s the highest since the same quarter of 2023.
