Vuzix Corporation announced an update on its ongoing collaboration with Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, for the development and production of advanced waveguide-based augmented reality (AR) display systems. The partnership has resulted in production approval and delivery of these AR display systems for use in multiple U.S. Department of Defense programs. Vuzix has completed the design and development of a waveguide-based display engine for Collins Aerospace's next-generation wearable display system, intended to support dismounted soldier operations and drone control. The collaboration enables near-term low-rate initial production and positions both companies to meet projected full-rate production needs beginning in 2026. Final hardware deliveries to government customers are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026.

Vuzix bietet laut Prospekt vom 12.12. der Firma Quanta Computer nun Stammaktien, im Tausch gegen die aufgrund des Erreichens des letzten Meilensteines ausgegebenen Vorzugsaktien, an. Ich hoffe, das Quanta den Tausch akzeptiert.

Ich halte es allerdings für möglich, das so ein Vertrag über mehrere Jahre ausgeliefert wird und sich der genannte Umsatz entsprechend auf mehrere Quartale verteilen wird. Es wurde ja Mitte November 25 erklärt, das man aktuell das 1. Programm auf Serienproduktion umstelle, was für mich jetzt nicht danach klingt, das man 2000 Stück in kurzer Zeit fertigen wird und sich dann über ein Quartal mit 12 Mio USD Umsatz freuen kann.
Es ist durchaus denkbar, dass die Lieferung der 2000 Stück nicht in einem einzigen Auftrag erfolgen muss.Andererseits stellt eine Menge von 2000 Stück selbst für ein Unternehmen mit 90 Mitarbeitern keine besonders große Herausforderung dar. Bleibt spannend.

Ok. Hab mal im CC zum 2. Q.2024 nachgelesen "...On the defense side, it's probably going to be $5,000 to $7,000 per asset that we sell into that piece of business. And the first sort of salable or opportunity that it's going to be filling is upwards of 2,000 pieces. So, like, do the math, it's pretty easy. It's $10 million to $14 million worth of business..."
