Automotive News China SHANGHAI -- There is widespread speculation on websites and Internet chat rooms in China this week that troubled BAIC Motor Group and Chery Automobile Co. are likely to be acquired by private domestic companies. The two major state-owned carmakers quickly responded and dismissed the rumors as baseless. But it’s hard for BAIC and Chery to deny what has given rise to the chatter: that they have yet to find a way to fix their moribund brands. Despite weak product technology, both companies have built tremendous production capacity in China. BAIC operates assembly plants in north, east and south China, which combined can produce more than 1.5 million vehicles a year. Chery’s annual production capacity has exceeded 1 million. At the end of last year, the two state-owned automakers each produced and marketed more than 15 nameplates in China, of which only a few achieve meaningful sales volume. BAIC’s 2017 sales in China plunged 48 percent to roughly 236,000 while Chery’s deliveries dropped 4.2 percent to below 563,000. Financial losses are inevitable for a carmaker with such a low capacity utilization rate. In 2017, BAIC recorded a loss of 2.7 billion yuan ($425 million) under four vehicle brands. In the past four years, the four brands have incurred a cumulative loss of about 10 billion yuan. Like BAIC, Chery has yet to make money from light-vehicle manufacturing, which resulted in a loss of 37.6 million yuan last year. BAIC and Chery continue to roll out new models under multiple brands. That will further stretch engineering and marketing resources allocated for each product. In February, private Chinese carmaker Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co. bought a nearly 10 percent stake in Daimler, with which BAIC has a passenger vehicle joint venture and a van partnership in China. To ease its financial burden, Chery sold half of the 50 interest it held in a Shanghai small carmaker, Qoros Automotive, to private domestic business conglomerate Baoneng Investment Group in December. Private companies are widely seen as nimbler players in China’s auto industry. And given the bleak future BAIC and Chery face on the domestic market, it is small wonder that widespread rumors say the former would be bought by Geely and the latter by Baoneng.

@ TheWarden3: Vielen dank für den Top Hinweis und ist echt eine sehr übersichtliche App. Danke sehr. @Teurbillig1222: ich denke es könnte dieses Jahr besser laufen, da der Hyundai JV hoffentlich wieder besser läuft nach den Engpässen Produktion letztes Jahr, aber ob es zu alten höhen nochmal reicht bleibt abzuwraten. Weiß zufällig jmd. wann genau jetzt die HV ist?

Das Interesse hier geht was zurück.. Normalerwrise knallt die Aktie hier dann gut hoch..
