Deutsche Bank (NYSE:DB) named Raja Akram to succeed James von Moltke as chief financial officer and renewed CEO Christian Sewing's contract to lead Germany's largest lender until April 2029, the company said on Thursday. Akram will join the company from Morgan Stanley (MS), where he has served as deputy chief financial officer since 2020. From 2006 to 2020, he worked for Citigroup (C), holding leadership positions in finance across multiple regions and businesses and also served as the chief accounting officer and global controller. Von Moltke, after serving as CFO for eight years, informed Deutsche Bank (NYSE:DB) that he won't seek another term when his contract expires in June 2026. Akram will join the bank on Oct. 1, 2025, become a member of the management board on Jan. 1, 2026, and assume the CFO role after a transition period, Deutsche Bank (DB) said.
