Greene King continues to experience challenging trading conditions. The £10 million investment it is making to boost customer service and value for money is starting to impact positively on trading according to today’s update. The business is on track to deliver its targeted cost savings of £40-£45 million. It is also making progress with its exit from Fayre & Square, which is due to take place by the end of the year. It has opened nine new pubs during the year, while it expects disposal proceeds to be ahead of expectations at around £120 million. Due to this, it expects full year profit before tax and exceptionals to be £240-£245 million.
