The cannabis production project in Weedon is believed to have taken “many new steps” since its announcement in June, according to project sponsors MYM Neutraceuticals and CannaCanada. The two companies said on Friday that new details surrounding the project will be unveiled next Thursday at an open house and a press conference to be held at the Weedon Arena on August 17. On June 26, MYM Neutraceuticals and CannaCanada announced plans to construct 15 100,000-square-foot greenhouses to produce 150,000 kilograms of medical cannabis. The project to be launched in Range 2 South of Weedon is valued at $ 200 million and would generate annual revenues of $ 750 million, while creating 400 direct and 800 indirect jobs, according to its promoters who say they filed a Formal request for authorization from Health Canada. The project also includes the creation of a training and interpretation center linked to hemp and cannabis.
