$PYPL PayPal's CEO @acce shared some insights at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia today. He absolutely killed it. This was his best (to date) presentation outside of earnings so far! VENMO - Reinvigorated Venmo getting a lot of traction online. - PayPal hasn't focused on Venmo monetization until now. - 30% MAU increase in Pay-with-Venmo and also in Venmo Debit in Q2. - Longer-term on Venmo, the community connection is key. Not just P2P, but interactions with SMBs (see item #7 from First Look announcement and the Seattle pilot program). PAYPAL EVERYWHERE CAMPAIGN / NFC - "We have an omni-channel commerce solution for both Venmo and PayPal." - Top 2 categories users are getting 5% cashback on are groceries and gas. - "They are things you never would have thought of using PayPal on in the past." - As NFC access becomes available in other geographies, PayPal will move there too. - "NFC is one how" of omni-channel, but "not the only how." CEO VISION / ONE YEAR IN "It's been an incredible year." He's proud of: - Team assembly. "A world-class team that is built for the future." - Organization. Now focused on profitable revenue growth and SMB vector. - Innovation (Velocity, rigor, partnerships to drive engagement across ecosystem). -"We're stronger today than we were a year ago, and very excited for year 2!" - "We have really honed in our energy on just a handful of things." They are seeing meaningful improvement due to this focus.
