Visual Search Industry Report- This Month in Mobile HOW BIG IS THE COMMERCIAL OPPORTUNITY ASSOCIATED WITH IMAGE RECOGNITION TECHNOLOGY, AND HOW QUICKLY WILL IT DEVELOP? This month, a new report from Tractica points to significant growth in artificial intelligence (“AI”) deployments such as image recognition, and forecasts corresponding revenues of more than $40 billion over the next decade. A second report is eagerly awaited from P&S Market Research that analyzes the image recognition market size and growth to 2020. The market possibilities are exponentially expanded by self-learning image recognition algorithms that provide very different responses according to the data sets used for “training” the algorithms, as evidenced by a test undertaken by Google researchers. AI Artificial Intelligence Technologies are Quietly Penetrating a Wide Range of Enterprise Applications 08/19/2015 Market intelligence firm Tractica is forecasting revenues of $43.5 billion in the next decade for enterprise AI deployments, as AI increasingly enables new approaches to age-old problems. Advances in AI technologies have attracted attention from a wide range of enterprise markets, with executives from nearly every industry evaluating the potential impacts of AI on their businesses. Technologies being evaluated, like image and speech recognition, are diverse but interrelated in terms of technology. Deployments are not always high profile or immediately visible, as AI capabilities are often embedded deeply within software systems and operational processes. Advertising, media, financial services and retail firms are identified as likely front-runners for large scale deployments. Ink Blot Here’s What Four Computers Saw in Rorschach Inkblot 08/17/2015 Two researchers from Google tested four separate image recognition algorithms, each one created using deep learning and initially indistinguishable from the others. Researchers asked the algorithms to identify what they “saw" in different inkblots -- a test normally used for assessing a human subject’s personality traits. Interestingly, every algorithm saw something different. The first was likely to see practical objects such as hooks; the second saw trinkets such as hair clips; the third gave abstract answers like “art” and “isolated”; and the final algorithm proved the most literal, providing responses such as “Rorschach images” and “black ink splotch illustrations”. While each “identical” algorithm used deep learning, the responses differed widely according to the types of images the creators introduced in the learning process. Even if the underlying code is the same, the data set used for training generates a distinct “personality” for each algorithm. Eye Global Industry Insight: Image Recognition Market Size, Share, Development, Growth and Demand Forecast to 2020 08/20/2015 P & S Market Research recently announced an upcoming report focused on the “significant rate” of growth within the image recognition market, including key drivers of this growth and corresponding projections of market size. This growth is underpinned by ever-increasing smartphone use, diverse vertical adoption, and expanding demand for augmented reality and virtual reality. Increasing use of image recognition is evident in media, branding, entertainment and, of course, retail, where the technology is creating a ubiquitous, convenient and lower cost channel for shopping. Slyce - Between the Code Newsletter Slyce Inc. to Host Toronto Investor Event 08/27/2015 On September 24th, Slyce will host analysts, institutional traders, fund managers and retail brokers at an Investor Event in Toronto’s financial district to communicate updates and insights on Slyce’s positioning and business strategy. The CEO, CTO, and Head of Consumer Apps will be present to discuss technology and product developments, recent customer deployments, and the positioning of visual search within the retail landscape. Several industry experts and representatives from Slyce’s retail customers with current visual technology deployments are expected to attend the event. Parties wishing to attend are asked to contact Roy Roman, Capital Markets Manager, for further details (roy@slyce.it). Neiman Marcus Expands Visual Search Across Its Entire Product Catalogue 08/26/2015 Luxury retailer Neiman Marcus has expanded the visual recognition capabilities within its “NM” app (branded as “Snap. Find. Shop.” and powered by Slyce) to help consumers find the products they are looking for across all of the Company’s product categories. Previously available only for women’s shoes and handbags, the expanded service reflects Neiman Marcus’ enthusiasm for visual product recognition as a key element of the company’s omni-channel marketing strategy. Wanda Gierhart, CMO of Neiman Marcus Group, remarked that “Visual search removes hurdles, taking the customer directly from inspiration to gratification.” Neiman Marcus produced a 45-second promotional video to support the expansion, appealing to the tech-savvy consumer interested in finding the latest trends and styles. Shoes.com Unboxes Visual Search for Snap-to-Shop 08/14/2015 Shoes.com has partnered with Slyce to provide visual search on its mobile site, allowing visitors to snap a photo of any footwear on the street or in advertisements and receive offers on the closest matching items from the Shoes.com product line. The online footwear is deploying this next-generation shopping technology to expand audience outreach and to enable shoppers to move from inspiration to gratification wherever they are. Roger Hardy, CEO of Shoes.com, called the technology “convenient” and “engaging”, and says it helps bridge the gap between real-world shopping and online shopping. Hardy expects the feature to draw more customers to Shoes.com, and says that “Its simplicity is well-suited to a mobile environment, where anything that reduces friction is a plus.”

-wie alle Nebenwerte unter Druck... -man sieht es, Trendwende eingeleitet -sehr junges Unternehmen -kaum Umsätze -hohe Verluste also überhaupt nix Neues! Ein sehr junges Unternehmen hat zwangsläufig hohe Verluste...
