One solution is to fire all the lazy civil servants who take excessive sick leave—like more than 5 days per calendar year—and switch to approving all corporate applications by default. But a reform like that is just impossible to implement in Germany.

My main concern is the silence on the truck and ammunition deliveries delayed from Q1. While Wall Street has no doubts about demand, Rheinmetall has yet to prove it can efficiently convert its massive backlog into revenue. If this bottleneck is driven by German government red tape, it could take years to resolve—if it gets resolved at all. Consequently, the market is turning numb; neither new contract wins nor further escalations seem capable of moving the stock price right now. If overcoming this bureaucracy takes anywhere near as long as finishing the Berlin airport, RHM is absolutely doomed. Let's hope that isn't the case.
