An effective import duty of 45% on imports of Chinese #bismuth into the US is inflicting pain on consumers in an already extremely tight market.
Bismuth is subject to a 25% tariff on imports from China, under Section 301 tariffs, and a further 20% rate on all imports in the US
Exports of #bismuth metal from China, which produces the vast majority of the world’s supply, have been crimped since China introduced export controls on the metal, among others, in February.
