Cainiao introduced a full-swing upgrade on its imported air cargo product matrix, covering more than 200 air transportation routes from Europe, the US and Australia to China, Chinese media reported.
Catering e-commerce customers with high demands on logistics efficiency, Cainiao provides "door-to-port" three-day delivery from the US and Europe to China, focusing on extreme speed, under which late arrival will be compensated, to provide customers with multiple efficiency guarantees.

China’s resurgent internet sector posts strong profit growth in first 7 months of 2023, led by e-commerce and local services: MIIT report
E-commerce firms saw their total revenue jump 42.4 per cent year on year in the January-to-July period, according to the MIIT report.
Alibaba Group Holding, the country’s largest e-commerce services provider, last month reported its biggest percentage growth in revenue in over a year amid China’s economic recovery efforts. Alibaba, which owns the South China Morning Post, posted a 14 per cent year-on-year increase in revenue during the June quarter to 234.16 billion yuan.

BABA's cloud business unit Alibaba Cloud is mulling a non-public round of financing from Chinese state-owned enterprises before spinning off for a Hong Kong IPO, Bloomberg News reported.
BABA is working with advisers on potential financing for its cloud-intelligence business, which could raise about RMB10-20 billion (USD1.4-2.8 billion), people familiar with the matter said. Potential investors include state-owned telecom operators, the sources said.

Fintech giant Ant Group expands Alipay+ cross-border payments service in South Korea with ZeroPay tie-up
From September 1, tourists using Alipay and several affiliated digital wallets can make electronic payments in Seoul via local service ZeroPay
Ant says the partnership, facilitated by South Korean firm ICB, is expected to enable 1.7 million merchants to accept cashless payments from tourists
ZeroPay was launched by the Seoul city government to help small businesses, which can use the QR-code-based payments service without paying a settlement fee, according to the government website.

The PBOC has ramped up support for the currency, via tools such as setting a stronger-than-expected daily reference rate, prompting state banks to sell US dollars, and tightening offshore yuan liquidity to squeeze shorts.
“As the yuan is the anchor of all the asset classes, authorities are trying to stabilise the broader financial markets through the measure,” said Hong Hao, chief economist of Grow Investment Group. Together with stronger-than-expected yuan fixings and the PBOC’s issuance of offshore bills, the cut to FX reserve requirements shows that the central bank cares about the 7.3 level for the yuan.

People’s Bank of China said on Friday that it will cut the foreign-currency reserve requirement ratio to 4 per cent from 6 per cent effective September 15. The a move is the third since April 2022, and is seen to defend the local currency from further depreciation pressure. Caixin PMI manufacturing index rose to 51 in August from 49.2 in July, signalling an expansion, according to a report on Friday.
