People’s Bank of China said on Friday that it will cut the foreign-currency reserve requirement ratio to 4 per cent from 6 per cent effective September 15. The a move is the third since April 2022, and is seen to defend the local currency from further depreciation pressure.
Caixin PMI manufacturing index rose to 51 in August from 49.2 in July, signalling an expansion, according to a report on Friday. That contrasted with the official index earlier this week that showed a fifth month of contraction in activity in August.

BABA 's Tongyi Qianwen has completed relevant filing works in compliance with the guidance and requirements outlined in the "Provisional Measures for the Management of Generative Artificial Intelligence Services" published jointly by seven government departments, Sina Tech reported.
The AI foundation model is now awaiting an official launch, as a list containing the first batch of foundation models that cleared relevant filing requirements is anticipated to be approved by related departments within one week.
Market rumors this morning (31st) suggested that foundation models of eight enterprises and institutions including BIDU , ByteDance and SENSETIME have cleared relevant filing requirements and will be permitted to offer online services to the general public. Tongyi Qianwen, however, was not on the list.

Die Immobilienpreise in Japan sind um etwa zwei Drittel gefallen, und der Aktienmarkt hat bis heute nicht wieder den Stand von 1989 erreicht.
