BABA Stock Spikes Overnight: Alibaba Takes On Nvidia With China's Most Powerful AI Chip Yet Yuvraj Malik Tue, September 22, 2026 at 6:49 AM GMT+2 The Zhenwu V900 delivers three times the performance of Alibaba's previous-generation accelerator. Huawei and several other Chinese chipmakers are developing alternatives to Nvidia's AI hardware. Alibaba is pairing its chip development with billions of dollars in AI infrastructure investment. U.S.-listed shares of Alibaba Group Holding rose more than 2% in overnight trading late Monday after the Chinese tech giant unveiled a new AI accelerator that it says is China's most powerful AI chip yet, intensifying competition with Nvidia as Beijing pushes to build a domestic alternative to U.S. technology. The company's T-Head semiconductor unit introduced the Zhenwu V900, which Alibaba CEO Eddie Wu said delivers three times the performance of its predecessor. The accelerator can be deployed in clusters of up to 500,000 chips to support the training of large, frontier AI models. Reuters reported that the chip is expected to enter mass production in early 2027. Nvidia Faces Growing Chinese Competition The launch adds another potential challenge for Nvidia, whose high-end AI accelerators have become the industry standard for training and running advanced models but face export controls in China. NVDA stock was marginally higher in overnight trading late Monday. Alibaba is simultaneously expanding its computing infrastructure, targeting more than 20 gigawatts of global data-center capacity by 2032. The company has committed more than $53 billion to AI capabilities over three years and plans to update its AI chip lineup annually.

Alibaba-Chef zufolge ist der neue Zhenwu V900 Chinas leistungsstärkster KI-Chip. Das Modell erreicht die 3-fache Leistung seines Vorgängers.

Alibaba Stock Price Rises in Pre-Market – Goldman Sachs Sees “Cloud Growth as a Bright Spot” Shalu Saraf Sep 17, 2026, 01:17 PM Alibaba Group Holdingstock inched higher in Thursday’s pre-market trading after falling 1.89% on Wednesday. In a new report today, Goldman Sachs Ronald Keung maintained its Buy rating on Alibaba while lowering its price target to $177 from $186. The lower price target reflects dilution from Alibaba’s recently completed HK$80 billion equity raising. Keung said Alibaba’s latest results included several positive developments. He called cloud growth a “bright spot” and said the company has greater certainty around returns on invested capital despite higher spending. The analyst also expects Alibaba’s earnings growth to improve from the September quarter. He also expects quick-commerce losses to narrow, with the business reaching profitability by FY29. Goldman Sachs Sees Faster Cloud Growth for Alibaba Goldman Sachs raised its cloud growth estimates for Alibaba. The firm now expects cloud revenue growth of 53% in the September quarter, 55% in December, and 55% in March 2027. Those estimates are up from its previous forecasts of 50%, 52%, and 52%, respectively. Keung cited strong demand for GPU-as-a-Service and Model-as-a-Service (MaaS). Goldman Sachs expects Alibaba to remain a major player in China’s AI and cloud market. The firm sees demand for AI services helping drive higher cloud sales. The firm also expects Alibaba’s quick-commerce losses to halve in FY27 and FY28. Keung expects the business to reach profitability by FY29. Meanwhile, Keung expects Alibaba’s earnings per share to grow by 58% in FY27 and 27% in FY28. He expects the stronger pace of growth to begin in the September quarter.

OpenAI and Anthropic's Chinese Rivals Face a Revenue Reality Check Moz Farooque ACCA Fri, September 18, 2026 at 9:33 PM GMT+2 2 min read This article first appeared on GuruFocus. Chinese artificial-intelligence models may be cheaper to run, but they are generating only a fraction of the revenue produced by U.S. leaders OpenAI and Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) backed Anthropic, according to estimates from Rhodium Group. All Chinese AI models combined generate roughly 10% of the revenue reported by OpenAI and Anthropic, highlighting a widening gap between model adoption, monetization and access to capital. Rhodium estimated DeepSeek's annual recurring revenue at about $500 million, MiniMax at $800 million and Moonshot at $1 billion. Z.ai recently told investors its ARR had reached $1.8 billion, while ByteDance was estimated at roughly $4 billion and Alibaba (NYSE:BABA) at $2.4 billion. Those numbers remain far below OpenAI's reported $40 billion annual revenue run rate and Anthropic's $65 billion. The valuation gap is even more striking. Rhodium estimated Moonshot trades at roughly 50 times revenue and DeepSeek at around 163 times, compared with about 34 times for OpenAI and 21 times for Anthropic. Valuations relative to revenue appear exorbitant for Moonshot and DeepSeek at present, the report said. That comes despite Chinese models often carrying materially lower task costs than leading U.S. systems. Investors Takeaway The key issue is whether lower pricing can eventually translate into enough scale to close the monetization gap. Chinese AI labs may have an advantage on cost, but cheaper inference does not automatically produce stronger economics. OpenAI and Anthropic currently appear to have much greater ability to convert enterprise and consumer demand into recurring revenue. That matters because frontier AI remains extremely capital intensive. The financing gap means it will be far more difficult for Chinese frontier AI labs to scale sustainably, Rhodium partner Logan Wright said. For investors, that creates a sharp distinction between technical competitiveness and financial durability. DeepSeek, Moonshot and other Chinese developers may continue to pressure U.S. rivals on pricing and model efficiency, but unless revenue catches up, high private valuations could become harder to justify. The broader takeaway is that the AI race is increasingly becoming a contest not just over model quality, but over who can fund infrastructure, attract paying customers and monetize at scale. finance.yahoo.com/technology/ai/artic...

September 18, 2026 3:50 AM2 min read US Government Website Quietly Used Alibaba’s Qwen AI Amid FBI Accusations of China Firm Imitating Anthropic: Report by Ravikash Bakolia Benzinga Editor The Federal Register’s website used an AI model from Chinese tech giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd (NYSE:BABA), allowing users to search for proposed federal rules. This occurred despite the FBI previously accusing the company of “malicious” imitation of American AI lab Anthropic‘s AI models, according to a report. What Happened at Federal ‌Register? The website’s search feature was using the Chinese company’s AI model Qwen on Wednesday, besides other search choices, Reuters reported. However, the Qwen-backed search was removed on Wednesday when social media posts started to circulate regarding it. The news outlet had viewed screenshots and an archived version of the website’s source code. It was not known when the search tool using Qwen was deployed by the website, which comes under the National Archives.

Meta MTIA 450 Arke AI chip deployment: cost savings 2027 Cris Tolomia Wed, September 16, 2026 at 2:27 PM GMT 'Meta plans to begin deploying a new in-house AI chip in its data centers during the first half of next year, with the company saying the processor will deliver better performance per watt and per dollar than Nvidia's current offerings when running AI models. The chip, designated MTIA 450 and code-named Arke, is currently in testing. According to Bloomberg, twelve units were delivered to Meta from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. on Sept. 1, and early results have landed within 2% to 3% of the figures Meta's simulations had forecast. On the first day of testing, the team ran Meta's own models as well as ones from DeepSeek and Alibaba Group on the processors.' https://finance.yahoo.com/technology/ai/articles/meta-mtia-450-arke-ai-122735717.html

Mal sehen, wie viel die Aktie bis Ende Oktober verlieren wird. Alibaba wird weiterhin einer der sichersten Geldvernichter bleiben langfristig.📉⛷️

Electronic Line Calling and AI Broadcasting Make CIFTIS Debut: Orange Lion Sports' Smartshot 2.0 Presents an Inclusive "Sports + AI" Solution PR Newswire Tue, September 15, 2026 at 4:47 AM GMT+2 2 min read 'BEIJING, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Orange Lion Sports, founded by Alibaba Group, has unveiled Smartshot 2.0, the upgraded version of its AI sports solution, at the Sports Services exhibition during the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), held September 9-13 in Beijing. From six-camera Hawk-Eye electronic line calling and AI-powered auto-directing to the debut of a voice-interactive smart ball machine, the company is advancing a cost-effective approach to inclusive sports technology, bridging the gap between professional competition and mass participation to "make sports simple." At CIFTIS 2026, Orange Lion Sports' replica tennis court became a focal point. Smartshot 2.0 introduced an upgraded electronic line calling system designed to address long-standing disputes over line calls at amateur tennis events. As soon as the ball lands, a large screen provides instant in/out calls and can announce "IN/OUT" at adjustable volumes. The system supports smoother, fairer amateur competitions at a low marginal cost without requiring additional labor. AI commentary and auto-directing cut broadcasting costs of up to hundreds of thousands of yuan, making high-quality broadcasts more accessible. AI-powered robots are becoming a valuable complement to traditional sports coaching. In Orange Lion Sports' roadmap, Smartshot will work with the smart ball machine to interact with trainees through natural language, instantly adjusting ball settings, placement and speed to create personalized training programs and help beginners improve more efficiently.'
