M Stanley Says CN Internet Sector Enters Easing Regulatory Cycle; BABA Expected to Be Prime Beneficiary The latest statement from China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) after its inspection on several platform enterprises highlighted China's commitment to further support the platform economy and private sector, which is consistent with the view of Morgan Stanley that China's internet sector has entered a cycle of easing regulatory following the government crackdown started in late 2020, the report remarked. Additionally, NDRC, along with other relevant departments, praised Chinese internet platforms including BABA. Morgan Stanley expressed that the regulatory environment for China's internet sector will likely become more normalized and lenient after three years of regulatory overhaul. BABA-SW was forecast to become the prime beneficiary of the easing regulatory cycle, with more clarity on fintech regulation (i.e. license for finance holding company) as a potential positive catalyst.
Klasse. Bin nur noch 4% im Minus aber solche Nachrichten können auch leicht eine echte Rallye auslösen. Hoffentlich kommt jetzt eine Serie guter Nachrichten wie damals die katastrophale Folge von schlechten Nachrichten nach Jack Ma's Verschwinden.

BofAS Lifts BABA-SW (09988.HK) TP to $134, Rating Buy
BofA Securities wrote in a report that the total revenue of BABA for 1FQ24 is expected to grow 10% YoY to RMB226 billion, or 9% in QoQ terms, driven by the recovery of China's commercial retail sector.
Taking into account last year's low base and positive sales performance from April to June this year, BofAS now forecasted BABA's China e-commerce platform customer management revenue (CMR) to grow by 8% to RMB78 billion.
Meanwhile, the rapid expansion of its overseas business and the rebound in demand for its offline services after Covid will accelerate the company's revenue growth, with the revenue growth of international commerce business, Cainiao Logistics, and local consumer services expected to reach 30%, 26% and 26% respectively.
BofAS forecasted that BABA's adjusted EBITA will grow by 15% YoY to RMB40 billion in the first fiscal quarter, and accordingly raised its revenue forecast for FY24-FY25 by 1% to 2%, and its adjusted profit forecast by 17% to 21%. The broker also elevated its target price from $129 to $134, and reiterated its Buy rating.
Regarding the fine of more than RMB7.1 billion imposed on Ant Group, BofAS believed that it is a sign that the regulation of financial services on internet platforms is almost completed and Ant is moving towards IPO, but it is estimated that the listing may take a few years.
