US sells $69B in 2-year notes at 3.580% yield
The US Treasury announced on Monday that it had auctioned $69 billion of 2-year notes. The auction drew solid investor interest, with a high yield of 3.580% and a bid-to-cover ratio of 2.75, indicating healthy demand.
The notes, which carry a 3.5% coupon, mature on January 31, 2028. Indirect bidders, often a proxy for foreign demand, were awarded $44.2 billion, or nearly 65% of accepted competitive bids, while direct bidders secured $19.4 billion. Primary dealers were left with just $5 billion of the total.
