Wall Street Journal: „First Republic bank was closed Monday in the second-largest U.S. bank failure ever. The move protects the bank's depositors but likely leaves shareholders with nothing.
The bank's shares had lost almost all of their value this year and closed Friday at $3.51. They were halted in premarket trading on Monday.
A presentation for investors by the bank indicates that the deal doesn't cover corporate debt or preferred stock. Shareholders have been wiped out in other bank failures this year, such as those of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank.“

Um das steuerlich geltend machen zu können, brauchst du von deinem Broker auch den entsprechenden Verlustnachweis. Das ist gar nicht so einfach. Du hast ja nicht verkauft. Wenn du Pech hast, verbleiben die Aktien noch jahrelang wertlos in deinem Depot.
