Neuer CEO bei Novo
Novo Nordisk (NVO) named company veteran Maziar Mike Doustdar as its new CEO after lowering its 2025 financial outlook due in part to slowed sales of its popular GLP-1 drugs Wegovy and Ozempic.
"I come to this role with a sense of urgency, a laser focus on high performance, and a fierce determination for Novo Nordisk to aim higher than it’s ever done, and to deliver to many more patients the innovation they need," Doustdar said in a company statement announcing his appointment.
"This is an important moment for Novo Nordisk. The market is developing rapidly, and the company needs to address recent market challenges with speed and ambition," said Novo Nordisk Chair Helge Lund in the same statement.
"I believe Novo Nordisk will build on its strengths as a global leader in obesity and diabetes, and Mike has a clear vision of how to unlock the full potential of the opportunities ahead," Lund added.

Eine EU-Pharma-Lobby hat die Pläne der Trump-Regierung kritisiert, 15 % Zölle auf Pharmaimporte zu erheben, inmitten von Unsicherheiten darüber, wie das neu angekündigte Handelsabkommen zwischen den USA und der EU auf die Produktgruppe abzielt, die in der Vergangenheit Abgaben aufgrund von Auswirkungen auf die öffentliche Gesundheit vermieden hat.
Die Antwort der Europäischen Föderation der Pharmaindustrie kam, nachdem ein offizieller Text des Weißen Hauses zu dem Abkommen darauf hingewiesen hatte, dass die EU zugestimmt hat, 15 % Zölle auf Produkte, einschließlich Arzneimittel, zu zahlen, wenn das Abkommen in Kraft tritt.
"Zölle auf Arzneimittel sind ein stumpfes Instrument, das Lieferketten stören, sich auf Investitionen in Forschung und Entwicklung auswirken und letztendlich den Zugang von Patienten zu Arzneimitteln auf beiden Seiten des Atlantiks beeinträchtigen wird", sagte EFPIA.
Wenn die Idee darin besteht, die Investitionen zu fördern, den Handel wieder ins Gleichgewicht zu bringen und eine gerechte Verteilung der Mittel für Pharma-F&E zu ermöglichen, "dann gibt es effektivere Mittel als Zölle, die den globalen Fortschritt in der Patientenversorgung und im Wirtschaftswachstum helfen und nicht behindern würden", fügte die Gruppe hinzu.
Arzneimittel stellen die wertmäßig größten Exporte von der EU in die USA dar und machen 60 % der gesamten Pharmaexporte des Landes aus.
EFPIA zählt die US-Arzneimittelhersteller AbbVie (ABBV), Amgen (AMGN), Biogen (BIIB), Bristol Myers (BMY), Gilead (GILD), J&J (NYSE:JNJ), Eli Lilly (LLY), Merck (MRK) und Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) zu seinen Vollmitgliedern.
Zu den weiteren Vollmitgliedern gehören führende EU-Arzneimittelhersteller wie AstraZeneca (NASDAQ:AZN), Bayer (OTCPK:BAYZF) (OTCPK:BAYRY), Novartis (NVS), Novo Nordisk (NVO) und Sanofi (SNY).
