VAT will be cut from household electricity bills, the government has announced, as part of new Prime Minister Andy Burnham's pledge to help with the cost of living.
⚡
The reduction from 5% VAT to zero will come into effect on 1 October, saving a typical household about £45 a year.

"The company has been cutting back on its wider green commitments. Earlier this year SSE announced a £3bn reduction in its investments in renewables, blaming planning and policy delays by the UK and Scottish governments. It also cut 300 jobs from its green energy business.
It remains a mainly fossil-fuel-based power generator, with over half of its electricity coming from gas-fired power stations."

SSE reported £521m in profit before tax in 2025, down 28% from the £725m result in 2024.
Earnings per share came in at 36.1p, down 29% from last year.

Ist noch unter 20€ also gut für Einstieg aber ist mir bei dem Markt im Augenblick zu teuer.
