Truist Securities Reiterates Buy Rating on Block Inc. (SQ), tells clients to add to position

Truist analyst Andrew Jeffrey told clients in a note Monday they should add to Block (NYSE: SQ) as they are increasingly convinced "detractors have a hollow argument." The analyst reiterated a Buy rating and $105 price target on the stock. His note follows the recent short report on Block from Hindenburg Research, with the short-selling firm accusing the company of inflating user metrics and not dealing with illicit activity on the platform. On the user metrics argument, the Truist analyst said they believe it is spurious, "as management has always focused on MAUs, citing 51 million as of 4Q22." Meanwhile, on allegations of the platform being used for criminal activity, Jeffrey stated his firm believes "the majority of fraudulent volume is conducted by a small minority of bad actors." Whereas some negative comments have merit, in our opinion, they materially miss the larger picture: Cash App is a legitimate digital consumer and SMB alternative to traditional checking/debit accounts that do a poor job serving an emerging generation of savers, spenders, and entrepreneurs," wrote Jeffrey. "Cash App has a significant first-mover advantage among neo banks, in our opinion, and while imperfect, has emerged as the most important digital debit model."

denke dass gleich mehrere Klagen auf Hindenburg zukommen werden. Hier sind auch Großinvestoren zu Schaden gekommen wie beispielsweise Blackrock, ARK, Vanguard usw. Hindenburg kommt nicht ungeschoren davon !!!!

Falsch, das fand nicht an einem Tag statt. Zuerst ging es runter auf 30-40, dann 20 und tiefer und nach der Inso Meldung unter 10. Hat etwa 1 bis 2 Wochen gedauert.

Ich würde Hindenburg, wenn ich bei Block was zu sagen hätte auf eine ordentliche Summe Schadenersatz verklagen. Das sollte dem Kurs von Block und dem Unternehmen nützen.

Wirecard stürzte von knapp 100 Euro an einem Tag auf unter 1 Euro und kam nie wieder über 1 Euro. Das mit Block zu vergleichen ist schon unverschämt. Passt aber zur ganzen Vorgehensweise hier.
