Viatris in talks to sell European OTC assets to CVC unit - report Viatris (NASDAQ:VTRS) is in discussions to sell its European consumer-health assets to a company owned by private equity firm CVC Capital Partners. Viatris fell 5.3%. Viatris (VTRS) is in advanced talks with CVC's over-the-counter drugmaker, Cooper Consumer Health, which could value the unit at €2 billion ($2.1 billion), according to traders, who cited a Blomberg report on Wednesday, which cited people familiar with the matter. The PE firm is the most serious after other bidders dropped out. No final deal has been agreed to, and talks could still fall apart, according to the report. The report comes after a Bloomberg story in late March that Viatris (VTRS) was asking for new offers for its European consumer-health assets after initial bids failed to meet its expectations. Viatris (VTRS) was originally trying to fetch €3 billion ($3.3 billion) for the sale. "We remain pleased with the progress of our divestiture process from a timing as well as a valuation perspective and look forward to discussing further soon," a Viatris spokesperson told Bloomberg in an emailed statement. Viatris (VTRS) was formed following the merger of Mylan and Pfizer's Upjohn unit. Bloomberg reported in November on the company's potential plans to sell its consumer-health assets in Europe
