UBS released its China equity strategy report for 2024 estimating that China's real GDP growth may slow to 4.4% in 2024. UBS will be bullish on the outlook for China's stock market given the trough in stock market valuations, lower investor positioning, accelerating policy support, and improving profitability momentum, which UBS expected to result from a fairly mild recession in the US economy, along with a decline in global interest rates. UBS added education, sportswear and food and beverage to its favored sectors, replacing hotel, home appliances and expressway, while internet remained its top pick.
