BUZZ-Aussie tech stocks track U.S. peers to hit record high
** The Australian technology sub-index rises as much as 3.4% to hit a record high
** The index tracks gains in U.S. peers after the tech-heavy Nasdaq hit an all-time high for a fifth consecutive session on advances in Apple Inc , Amazon.com Inc and Google-parent Alphabet Inc overnight
** Buy-now-pay-later giant Afterpay climbs as much as 4.9% to an all-time high of A$159.500
** Data services provider Appen soars as much as 5.7% and software firm Altium rises 3.2%
** Network operator Megaport jumps as much as 8.8% and Xero adds as much as 3%

The clear leader on the ASX200 today was the information technology sector, up 3.1 per cent. It is one of the lightest sectors on the ASX, but was the biggest points contributor today. Afterpay closed 4.2 per cent higher, Xero gained 2.9 per cent, Appen 6.2 per cent, and Megaport 7.3 per cent.
