Der Dow Jones verlor 1,26 Prozent auf 33.696,39 Punkte. Der NASDAQ Composite sackte daneben 1,78 Prozent auf 11.855,83 Punkte ab. Die US-Erzeugerpreise sind im Januar stärker als erwartet gestiegen, was nahelegt, dass die Zinsen weiter erhöht werden müssen. Auf der anderen Seite deutet der Philadelphia-Fed-Index, der sich im Februar nicht erholt hat, darauf hin, dass die US-Notenbank auch nicht zu stark an der Zinsschraube drehen sollte. Positiv wurde aufgenommen, dass die Erstanträge auf Arbeitslosenhilfe im Vergleich zur Vorwoche leicht gesunken sind.
