As reported by Jiemian News, Shu Youxing, General Manager of BYD's European Automobile Sales Division, revealed on May 9th that BYD aims to surpass Volkswagen, Tesla, and Stellantis by 2030, becoming the largest electric vehicle seller in the European market. Shu Youxing disclosed that BYD is gearing up for significant investments in the European Union, potentially totaling billions of euros. These investments will cover various aspects, including factories, distribution networks, and marketing efforts. BYD plans to introduce low-cost electric vehicles based on the Seagull model to the European market, priced below 20,000 euros. BYD entered the European market in 2021, starting its sales journey in Norway. Last year alone, the company sold 15,644 electric vehicles in the region, capturing a 1.1% share of the European electric vehicle market according to DataForce. In January this year, BYD's Explorer 1 car transport roll-on/roll-off ships held delivery and maiden voyage ceremonies at ports in Shandong and the Shenzhen-Shan International Logistics Port, transporting 4,060 new energy vehicles. These ships successfully arrived at various European ports, including the port of Flushing in the Netherlands and the port of Bremen-Hafen in Germany.
