Kann mir das einer mit den cases etc. Erklären bzw. Sagen wo ich darüber was erfahre? Bin euch super dankbar für eure Berichte aber komme nicht ganz hinterher.

Wie oben (und im Blog) geschrieben, denke ich, dass das bereits der Fall ist. Die müssen nun sequenziert und ausgewertet werden. Im Klartext: die 59 cases sind nicht mehr der jüngste Stand. Bei weitem nicht. Bleibt aber persönliche Einschätzung.

Noch was zur Entblindung ... Ein Ziel der Verblindung ist das Abwarten des Auftretens ausreichender Zahl an Infektionen aller zu untersuchenden Varianten. Das hat mit der efficacy also nichts zu tun. Diese kann eben nur noch nicht statistisch belastbar ermittelt werden. Die Entblindung soll nach nicht überprüfbaren Aussagen von Phase 3 Probanden aber bereits laufen. Ein Hintergrund ist zumindest in D u.a. auch der Entfall der Impfpriorisierung. Bei 40 k Probanden in 10 Ländern und 2 Zeitzonen auch administrativ herausfordernd. Sehr Bearbeitungsstand der Studienergebnisse ist weiter, als es aus der Pressemitteilung abzuleiten ist.

@Toi jetzt verstehe ich, was du meinst. Zu Punkt 4) Einen direkten Zusammenhang von Entblindung und efficacy >85% ab IAD I kann ich auch nicht erkennen. Aber ich müsste im ctp nachlesen, kann’s mir aber nicht vorstellen. Das kann aber Longie vielleicht aufklären? Vielleicht sprichst du ihn direkt per PN an?

To produce eight billion doses of the NIH-Moderna Covid-19 mRNA vaccine within six months, 55 production lines would be required, as shown in Table 3 below. To produce eight billion doses of the BioNTech Covid-19 mRNA vaccine within six months, 17 production lines and 3,145 batches would be required, as shown in Table 3 below. These 17 production lines can be placed into five facilities, three of these facilities would have three production lines per facility and the remaining two facilities would contain four production lines per facility. The total capital cost required to construct, equip, validate, and start up the five facilities, with three or four production lines per facility, for producing eight billion BNT162b2 vaccine doses is estimated at $985 million.
