Um dieses Ziel zu erreichen, soll die Initiative Vereinbarungen zwischen Herstellern – etwa aus der Automobil- sowie der Batteriebranche – und globalen Rohstofflieferanten in Partnerländern erleichtern. EXIM, die offizielle Exportkreditagentur der USA, bietet dabei finanzielle Unterstützung und andere Hilfen für heimische Unternehmen an. China dominiert die weltweiten Lieferketten für viele kritische Mineralien, wodurch Länder wie die USA stark von Importen abhängig sind.
