I think that $GILD will not make much money from the Remdesivir price / dose paid by the patients. The money will come from licenses with other companies and contracts with governments. Every new contract will reduce the possibilities to get raw materials and the facilities for own Remdesivir production. Since the negotiations are political (every government wants its piece of the pie to let their countries open but they want it cheap) O’Day cannot say much about the revenue for Remdesivir at the moment. It was a good move of him to give the first charge for free to increase the pressure from the patients with more good anecdotes, to accelerate the trials, to increase the competition between governments/companies for the first charge and to have time to ensure the supply chains. Additionally, the company could improve its image to help the world but for the next charges the world should reward $GILD and to reinvest for better therapeutics (Remdesivir inhalators). This move is also a strong signal that $GILD is confident with this drug that they invested in the ramp up of the production. This company knows more about the efficiency than any outsider including analysts. Auch eine interessante Ansicht 🤔

Das Abfallen Des Kurses bei Gilead könnte damit zu tun haben, das der letzte conference­ call bei den Analysten und beim Markt nicht gut ankam, man liest solche Kommentare­ viel in US Foren. Man hatte erwartet das O‘Day im conference­ call schon mehr zu Preisen und Umsatzerwa­rtungen sagen würde, aber auch auf Nachfrage blieb das etwas unkonkret.­ Das gefiel den Analysten nicht gut, darum die Auswirkung­en die wir momentan sehen. Kann sich aber auch schnell wieder ändern wenn neue positive Studien kommen, oder finanziell­ attraktive­ Auslizensi­erungen erfolgen sollten

Short interest Volumen für Gilead liegt bei 1,8 Mrd $. Vielleicht das die Ursache, dass das Ding nicht steigt. Allerdings wenn der Deckel mal wegfliegt... 👍
