Na klar, wenn ein Akteur fast alle Fäden in der Hand hat ist das so. Aber tendenziell scheint es für Lynas jetzt ja langsam bergauf zu gehen. Preistief war wohl Q3, Q4 etwas höhere Durchschnittspreise. Außerdem Ende Q3 eine Ladung fertig gehabt, die aber erst in Q4 kassenwirksam wird, Produktionshochlauf nimmt langsam Fahrt auf... Also selbst wenn Trump keine Eskalation bewirkt sehe ich für Lynas erstmal leicht positive Perspektiven.

Aber man muss bedenken es ist alles auf China gemünzt. Die können ja leicht ihren Preis steuern. Quoten rauf - Preise runter und Vice versa

"The continued growth in demand for new energy vehicles and wind power, along with the effective boost in demand for industrial motor equipment upgrades, is expected to elevate the demand curve for 2025-2026. This may succeed new energy as a major source of rare earth demand growth. Für mich ist dieser Abschnitt hier das relevante: "It forecast that global rare earth supply growth in 2024 would be 5%, while global Pr-Nd oxide demand growth would be 9%, outpacing rare earth supply growth. Therefore, the supply-demand pattern for rare earths is expected to improve, and rare earth prices are likely to rebound from the bottom."

While China is vulnerable in energy and food production, REMs provide a significant advantage. China controls 60–70 percent of the world’s extraction of REMs and 90 percent of its refining capacity. Since the 1980s, China has viewed REMs as a strategic asset.
“Recognizing the strategic importance of these metals, China began heavily subsidizing its rare earth mining and processing industries. This allowed Chinese producers to undercut international competitors, driving many mining operations in the U.S., Australia, and elsewhere out of business,” reports Zimtu Capital Corporation of Canada.
President-elect Donald Trump’s appointment of key officials—such as Peter Navarro as senior counselor for trade and manufacturing—signals a strong stance on trade.
Navarro, known for his aggressive trade policies, has been empowered to use tariffs and other measures to compel China to adhere to fair trade practices.
Navarro could receive significant support from former U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, who shares Navarro’s views on the malign nature of China’s trade practices.
Ambassador Rick Grenell, appointed to the new role of presidential envoy for special missions, adds further muscle to this team. Grenell’s past close relationship with Trump suggests he will play a critical role in resolving obstacles related to REMs.
A new corollary to Trump’s famous “drill, baby, drill” might be “refine, baby, refine”—a rallying cry to reestablish REM refining processes in the United States and trusted foreign partners.

Ja Alternativen wäre wichtig.
Denke es passiert nur nicht mit soviel Publicity in den Medien und langsam.
China ist halt auch noch sehr stark in dem Bereich und liefert wohl zuverlässig und in guter Qualität. Und das auch für die F35 Jets 🫣😫 - da hat man ja dann rausgefunden das viele Magneten aus China sind. Aber die machen halt keine wirkliche Menge aus uns sind strategisch.

Man riskiert halt eine erneute Abhängigkeit von unberechenbaren Egomanen - aber auch das ist ja nix Neues.
Aber stimmt natürlich, die Gebiete bekommt man auf keinen Fall zurück. Umso wichtiger aber, dass man sich endlich Alternativen aufbaut.

Na ja - ich hoffe zwar nicht - aber es sieht so aus als würde man den Konflikt beenden und Ruzzia hat dann Zugriff auf die Sache. Gehe nicht davon aus das die Ukraine alle Gebiete wieder zurückbekommt. Der Westen hat zu wenig unterstützt.
Andererseits gibt es diesen Supply Pfad heute auch nicht also was verliert man??

Rare earths: another reason we mustn’t allow Russia to win in Ukraine
The so-called rare earths are essential raw materials for advanced electronics industries. China – with the world’s largest economically exploitable reserves – has a major strategic advantage in access to rare earths, underlined by the tight export controls that it has recently imposed. In Europe, it is eastern Ukraine that has the best reserves. To gain and maintain control of Ukraine’s reserves would be a major boost for Russia.
A defeat here for Ukraine, enabled by the failure of the west to provide the long-term support that it has promised, would signal to China that it should not be too concerned about western resolve in the event of a Chinese invasion of Taiwan. Taiwan is a dominant supplier of the advanced electronics, incorporating rare earths, that will continue to be a major determinant of economic success.

Ja so ist es - war bisher auch nicht so glücklich mit meinem Invest in Lynas. Aber hatte mal für ca 0 verkauft. Kann jetzt nachkaufen wenn die Preise fallen um die Pos wieder vergrößern
