Trading statement for H1 2026 In terms of paragraph 6.26 of the Listing Requirements of the JSE Limited (JSE), a company listed on the JSE is required to publish a trading statement as soon as it is satisfied that a reasonable degree of certainty exists that the financial results for the current period to be reported on will differ by at least 20% from the financial results for the previous corresponding period. Accordingly, stakeholders are advised that Sibanye-Stillwater expects HEPS of between 571 SA cents (34.8 US cents) and 631 SA cents (38.4 US cents) for H1 2026, an increase of more than 200% from 190 SA cents (10.3 US cents) for the six months ended 30 June 2025 (H1 2025). EPS are expected to range between 597 SA cents (36.3 US cents) and 658 SA cents (40.1 US cents), improving by more than 560% from a loss per share of 127 SA cents (6.9 US cents) for H1 2025. The substantial improvement in earnings reflects stable operational delivery, stronger commodity prices and improved margins. Revenue less cost of sales before amortisation and depreciation for H1 2026 is expected to more than double compared with H1 2025, demonstrating the significant earnings leverage across the portfolio. The year-on-year comparison is impacted by historical Section 45X credits recognised in H1 2025, which reduced cost of sales before amortisation and depreciation in the comparative period. H1 2025 included R5.1 billion (US$285 million) of Section 45X credits, of which approximately R4.4 billion (US$249 million) related to the cumulative recognition of credits for 2023 and 2024. Excluding Section 45X credits from both periods, the underlying improvement in profitability is even more pronounced.

Richard Stewart: Honour, Engage and Create In his opening address, Stewart said, “Acknowledgement is about more than just honouring the memory of those who died; it is also about acknowledging the broader role played by the mining industry and various institutions that, over many decades, perpetuated inequality, exclusion and hardship.” When Sibanye-Stillwater took over the Marikana operations in 2019, “we knew we were inheriting far more than a mining asset. We were inheriting grief, mistrust and unfinished conversations. But we were also inheriting an opportunity – an opportunity to help build a different future,” he said. Reflecting on the three pillars of the Marikana Renewal Programme – Honour, Engage and Create – Stewart said honour was not passive remembrance, but an effort to understand different perspectives and lived experiences. He added that engagement was critical and, arguably, the most important pillar at present. “If we truly want to build trust, the most important question to ask ourselves is not what we are engaging on or what we must deliver, but rather how we are engaging. Do we arrive with answers, or are we prepared to listen?” he said. Create is the third pillar, where “civil society through communities drive their own development with the support of government and industry. It is one where trust is built through partnership. It is one where dignity, opportunity and accountability are shared responsibilities.” Stewart said Marikana has shown that no single stakeholder can solve South Africa’s challenges alone. For communities to benefit over the long term, mines must remain viable to continue creating jobs, generating economic activity, investing in infrastructure and attracting capital. Equally, for mining companies to succeed, they require stable operating environments, trusted relationships, and communities that see themselves as partners in a shared future. “For us, profitability is not separate from social responsibility; it enables us to invest, partner and create value over time.” Stewart said, “Our country possesses extraordinary mineral resources, expertise and human potential, but unlocking that potential requires regulatory certainty, social stability, stakeholder trust, resilient infrastructure and a shared commitment to growth. It requires government, business, labour and communities to work together to address our greatest challenges, which are poverty, unemployment and inequality.” Over the next 10 to 20 years, Marikana’s development should be defined by what has been achieved collectively to ensure reliable services and infrastructure, to expand economic opportunities and to enhance dignity, he said. A milestone in the Marikana renewal journey The 7th Annual Marikana Commemoration lecture marked a significant milestone with the unveiling of the Koppie Memorial design, a powerful symbol of remembrance and healing. Sibanye-Stillwater (JSE: SSW and NYSE: SBSW) today hosted the 7th annual Marikana commemoration lecture, delivered by Dr Thabo Makgoba, Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town, who has been patron of the Marikana Renewal Programme since its inception. Since acquiring Lonmin in 2019, Sibanye-Stillwater has honoured those who passed, supported their families and contributed to building communities through The Marikana Renewal Programme. The Annual Marikana Lecture honours the memory of the 44 people who lost their lives in August 2012 and is an important opportunity to recommit to the ongoing journey with families and communities to build a shared future. Archbishop Makgoba, was joined by guest speaker Nolitha Fakude, Chair of Anglo American South Africa, Vice President of Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) and Former President of the Minerals Council South Africa, and Sibanye-Stillwater CEO, Richard Stewart. Archbishop Makgoba: Measuring mining includes what is restored to communities In his keynote address, Archbishop Makgoba said the Marikana Massacre held up a mirror to South Africa. “It forced us to look at ourselves: at the conditions in which people lived and worked; at the relationships between workers, companies, unions, communities, government and the police; at our failures of listening; at our failures of compassion; and at our failure, at times, to recognise the full humanity of one another.” He said the road to healing and restoration is long and arduous, but there has been progress with families engaged with greater care, practical interventions that honour those lost, and support for those who remain. “We have seen people who once stood far apart begin to sit together.” There is a “growing recognition that mining cannot be measured only by what is extracted from the earth, but also by what is restored to people, to communities and to the future,” he said. In closing, Archbishop Makgoba said, “Let us not allow Marikana to be defined only by tragedy. Let it also be remembered as the place where South Africans confronted pain and chose not to surrender to it. Let it be remembered as the place where grief called forth responsibility. Let it be remembered as the place where leaders learned again to listen. Let it be remembered as the place where a mining community began, slowly and imperfectly but sincerely, to build a new legacy.” Nolitha Fakude: The past we inherit, the future we build Reflecting as guest speaker, Fakude said, “Long before I understood mining through the language of business, I understood it through the language of people. I understood that behind every mineworker is a family. And behind every contribution to our economy is a personal story filled with aspirations, sacrifices and dreams.” Fakude said that, in many ways, the story of Marikana is the story of women. “Women who have carried grief with dignity, who have sustained families through unimaginable hardship, and women who have shown extraordinary resilience in the face of profound loss.” She added that the Marikana tragedy was a wake-up call that altered the way the industry understood its relationship with stakeholders, particularly workers. “It reminded us that mining is not only about the minerals we extract, the investment we attract, or the contribution we make to the economy. At its heart, mining is about people.” Fakude reflected on the enduring lessons of Marikana, and on the responsibility we share to transform remembrance into healing, and healing into renewal. “It is, ultimately, a reflection on how we build a future worthy of those whose lives we honour today - a future anchored in dignity, guided by compassion, and inspired by hope.”
