Citi analysts questioned the market's sharp response to French trainmaker Alstom's cash warning that had wiped over $3 bln from its value, calling the share price reaction "overdone" and "stark"
"We believe the share price decline looks way overdone," Citi said in a note, but added that "it is a steep climb to regain market confidence"
The plunge "looks stark in light of a cash miss equivalent to 12% of yesterday's equity value," the brokerage adds
Still, Citi notes concerns around management credibility, fears that more bad news may come, and the potential need for an equity raise
In a Thursday call with analysts, however, CFO Bernard Delpit ruled out the need for a capital increase, Les Echos reported, though he added Alstom could be open to asset sales
"Comments on potential disposals are double-edged, highlighting a route to raise cash, but also acknowledging the potential need to do so," - Citi

Ich habe viel eingekauft. Bei Investitionsgüterkonzernen wie Alstom werden die Zahlen immer stark schwanken. Siehe zum Beispiel SBM Offshore in Holland. H2 wird sehr gut sein.

Die Bewertung ist nach dem Absturz noch immer sehr hoch. Bei KGV. Die Versorger in Deutschland sind billiger und besser zu haben.
