Arista Networks logged higher profit in the fourth quarter, boosted by a double-digit sales increase. The cloud-networking company on Tuesday posted a profit of $801 million, or 62 cents a share, compared with $613.6 million, or 48 cents a share, in the same quarter last year. Adjusted per-share earnings came in at 65 cents, topping the 57 cents that analysts surveyed by FactSet expected. Revenue increased 25% to $1.93 billion. Analysts were looking for $1.9 billion. Chief Executive Jayshree Ullal said innovations that enabled networking for artificial intelligence benefited the company's recent year and quarter. For the first quarter, the Santa Clara, Calif., company forecast revenue between $1.93 billion and $1.97 billion, ahead of the $1.9 billion that analysts modeled.
