Folgen I’m honored to share that I’ve been selected as a recipient of the 2026–2027 Ohio Space Grant Consortium (OSGC) STEM Scholarship, funded by NASA. This opportunity builds on my previous work as an OSGC/NASA intern, where I developed a neuromorphic event-based vision and fuzzy Spiking Neural Network (SNN) model for velocity estimation in Mars-class rotorcraft. That research was presented at the IEEE/AIAA Digital Avionics Systems Conference (DASC 2024). This work was also recently featured in Dayton Magazine as part of a broader effort advancing neuromorphic AI for space systems: https://lnkd.in/gtkxVSDi For this next phase, I will continue my research under Dr. Vijayan K. Asari in the University of Dayton Vision Lab, focusing on: Low-SWaP Neuromorphic Event-Based Vision for Autonomous Mars Rotorcraft using BrainChip Akida Hardware. The goal is to transition validated algorithms from simulation to deployable neuromorphic hardware, enabling real-time, energy-efficient autonomy for aerospace systems operating in GPS-denied environments such as Mars.
