A Mexico plant would let #BYD sidestep punitive U.S. tariffs on Chinese autos, but I don't know if it could qualify for IRA tax credits, even if it had an otherwise-compliant battery supply chain. Ford and Tesla battery plant plans involve keep CATL's help at a distance.
