• High UK electricity prices have indeed affected infrastructure rollout, but BYD's flash-charging solution features built-in energy storage, storing power during off-peak hours (e.g., nighttime) and discharging during peak hours (daytime), offering users a more cost-effective charging experience.
• BYD's 2026 plan: 20k flash-charging stations in China. Overseas, 6k stations will be built from March this year through end-March next year, with 3k in Europe, 2k in the Americas, and 1k in Asia-Pacific.
➡️Sales Targets & Competitive Landscape
• The UK new car market stands at around 2–2.2M units annually. Volkswagen leads with approximately 8.5% share (~170k units); the top five brands each sell 120k–170k units.
• Chinese brands' overall competitiveness continues to strengthen. With its integrated "EV + energy storage + charging station" solution, BYD is confident in striving for a leading position in an open market.

BYD has now entered the Azerbaijan market.
It's launching w/ Sea Lion 06 EV/DM-i, Yuan Up EV/DM-i & Seal 06 DM-i. BYD had opened up a factory in Azerbaijan mkt to serve the huge 200 eBus order that it picked up. I'm surprised it had not entered passenger mkt until now.

In 2026 H1, the cumulative export volume rankings are as follows 🇨🇳:
• #BYD led exports with 736.5k units (+86.6% YoY), becoming the NEV export benchmark via its PHEV & BEV dual-drive.
• #Chery followed at 669.2k units (+115.4% YoY), narrowing the gap with the leader and forming a two-horse race at the top.
• MG ranked third at 349.9k units (+48.5%). Tesla came fourth at 229k units (+126.6% YoY).
• #Geely Galaxy surged 759.6% YoY to 200.2k units, while Geely grew 36.5% to 193.4k units.

In 2026 H1, China's total BEV wholesale volume reached 4.3M units, +7.5% YoY. 🇨🇳
• #BYD ranked 1st with 816.4k units, but down 17.9% YoY. #Tesla grew 28.4% to 467.9k units, still trailing BYD.
• #LiAuto ranked 10th with 132k units; #NIO ranked 11th with 119.5k (+60.7% YoY), while its sub‑brand Onvo also made the top 20 with 42.5k (+33.3% YoY); #Xpeng ranked 9th with 151k, but down 23.4% YoY.
• Aito saw significant growth, up 530.6% YoY, with MG (+362.1%) and Nevo (+184.9%) also posting strong gains.
