LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - IMUNON, Inc. (NASDAQ: IMNN), a clinical-stage biotechnology firm with a market capitalization of $54.83 million, has reported positive outcomes from its Phase 2 OVATION 2 Study of IMNN-001, a DNA-mediated immunotherapy for advanced ovarian cancer. According to InvestingPro data, the company’s stock has shown remarkable momentum, delivering a 194% return over the past six months. The study demonstrated significant improvements in overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) among participants. The results, shared during an oral presentation at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting and published in Gynecologic Oncology, showed a median increase of 13 months in OS and 3 months in PFS for patients treated with IMNN-001 compared to standard of care alone. The trial involved 112 patients with newly diagnosed advanced epithelial ovarian cancer, randomized to receive either the standard neoadjuvant and adjuvant chemotherapy (N/ACT) or the same chemotherapy in combination with IMNN-001. The addition of IMNN-001 led to a mean extension of 6.5 months in time free of progression or death. Furthermore, the use of poly ADP-ribose polymerase (PARP) inhibitors as maintenance therapy in conjunction with IMNN-001 markedly enhanced patient outcomes, with median OS not yet reached after more than 5 years, compared to 37 months with standard care. The study also observed double the response rate of a complete or near complete histopathological response and a higher surgical response rate with no macroscopic residual tumor left after surgery in the IMNN-001 treatment arm. While these clinical results are promising, InvestingPro analysis indicates the company is currently burning through cash, with negative EBITDA of -$18.03 million in the last twelve months.
